Climate change is projected to have potentially serious adverse consequences for human health.
Allergenic and immune responses to a variety of environmental factors, such as pollens, fungi, and pollutants have been clearly demonstrated to be associated with an increased burden of upper and lower respiratory disease.
Drought had a stronger effect on fungal community composition and induced greater functional loss.
The magnitude of the fungal community change was directly proportional to the precipitation gradient.
Recognition of climate-related environmental changes and their conseqent impact on respiratory allergy is paramount, as is working to lessen the impact on patients and adapting
practices to meet those needs.
